Investing in People: The Key to Lasting Change
Meet the Faces Behind the Mission: Cadaniño’s Dedicated Teachers and Staff
At Cadaniño, a key part of our model—and what has been proven to be most effective—is recruiting, training, and equipping local teachers from within our communities. These dedicated individuals understand the struggles, challenges, and needs of the children and families they work with because they have walked similar paths. By investing in local leaders, we create a sustainable transformation model where those who once needed help are now empowered to be the ones giving it. These teachers, mentors, and ministry leaders are on the front lines daily, discipling youth, providing education, and sharing the love of Christ in both word and action. They are the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing hope and opportunity to those who need it most.

Eduardo Lux
My name is Eduardo and I hold the position of coordinator. I have been with Cadaniño since the beginning of the program, and I have had the blessing of serving for almost nine years.
I am responsible for administration at our learning center in Santa Fe. I am also in charge of maintenance, among other duties. I know the community well and interact with many families and students, engaging with them to serve effectively so they can recognize the great opportunities their children are gaining at Cadaniño.
I am from the department of Mazatenango, Suchitepéquez, Guatemala, and I come from a dysfunctional family with limited opportunities. I moved to the community of Santa Fe in 2007, where I currently reside with my wife and daughter.
One of my greatest passions is serving vulnerable children from dysfunctional and low-income families. I have had the opportunity to watch many children grow at Cadaniño, achieving incredible things they never imagined due to the lack of opportunities in their families.
Cadaniño has impacted the lives of many children in this community. Parents value the program because they know their children have the best opportunities for their professional future, allowing them to fulfill their dreams and obtain dignified jobs.

Lilian Chete
I am Lili, the Coordinator at Cadaniño in San José Pinula. With a deep dedication to the well-being and development of children, I lead our initiatives and programs.
I am proud to be part of a team that works tirelessly to provide our students a safe learning environment. I joined Cadaniño six years ago. My leadership role allows me to ensure that all our programs are effectively executed, making a meaningful impact on students and their families. Additionally, my position enables me to have direct contact with families, witnessing firsthand how we provide a safe place filled with opportunities for students to thrive.
I am from San José Pinula and am passionate about serving others. I love learning new things and using my skills to help those in need. Jesus is the center of my life. I have two children: Beverly, 19 and Marck, 15, a student at Cadaniño.
I have always had a strong inclination for community service and a deep desire to contribute to others' well-being. The mission and vision of Cadaniño resonated with me, as we share the same passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children. After learning about Cadaniño's work and seeing how its programs transform lives, I knew this was where I belonged. The opportunity to be part of a dedicated team committed to this mission inspires me every day.

Reyna Chutá
My name is Reyna. I am the teacher who leads Bible classes for children aged 7 to 12 years old, assist with teaching the youth Bible classes when needed and I also organize activities with the women’s group. I have been working at the foundation for five years.
My responsibility is to share God’s Word with the students we serve, as well as with their families, since we also conduct home visits. I love working with the students, teaching them who God is, how they can have a personal relationship with Him, helping them experience His love, and strengthening their spiritual lives so they can truly know Him and learn to trust in Him during difficult times.
We also provide emotional support to students when they are struggling, feeling sad, experiencing conflicts at home, or dealing with an ill family member. We take the time to pray for their needs, so that in challenging times, they can put their trust in God and, most importantly, strengthen their faith in Him.
I have a family blessed by God. My husband and I have been married for nine years, and we have two beautiful daughters, one who is 8 years old and another who is 3 months old.
I work at Cadaniño because I love teaching, sharing, and spending time with all the students. My greatest desire is that the families we serve, if they have not yet accepted God into their hearts, may come to know Him and truly accept Him as their one and only personal Savior.
I feel very happy and grateful to be part of Cadaniño.

I am from Guatemala, and I dedicate my time to working and studying. I live with my parents and two sisters. I have lived in this community for approximately 26 years, near the Cadaniño foundation, which I consider special because it has allowed me to get to know the families we serve more deeply.

Luke Dove
My name is Luke Dove, and I am the Youth Pastor at Cadaniño Santa Fe. I came to Guatemala and joined the Cadaniño team in March of 2021. I have the great pleasure of serving our youth—teaching Bible class, praying for them, building relationships, and doing my best to show them the love of Christ.
I am originally from Kentucky in the United States and attended Milligan University, where I studied Bible and Sociology. Just recently, I celebrated one year of marriage to my wonderful wife, Marian, whom I met here in Guatemala.
I have a passion for serving urban poor youth who come from difficult backgrounds, and it has been a great blessing to use my gifts to invest in teenagers who are often searching for hope and love. Being able to point them toward God and walk alongside them as they take steps in their faith is one of the greatest joys of my ministry.
I have witnessed the hand of God move in their lives and hearts. I’ve seen stories of healing, forgiveness, growth, and love—gardens growing out of graves, broken things being restored. That is what truly inspires me: to play even a small role in helping these vulnerable youth catch a glimpse of light in the darkness and follow it home to the arms of their Heavenly Father.

I am Jhoseline, a Computer Science Teacher at Cadaniño since 2022. I teach typing, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and programming to children and young people, helping them develop technological skills so they can bless their communities and further their education. My experience at Cadaniño has allowed me to help students develop essential technological skills, preparing them for better job opportunities. This commitment not only benefits them but also their families, who share in the blessings of this ministry. Watching students’ progress in their knowledge daily fills me with joy. I am grateful to be part of a ministry that is making a lasting impact on students and their families.

David López I am David López, the Youth Pastor at Cadaniño since March 2024. My work involves teaching Bible classes to teenagers, supporting the children's Bible team, and providing pastoral care and guidance.
I am originally from Argentina but have lived in Guatemala for 20 years, where I met my wife. We have two children. At Cadaniño, I have seen God's hand working in unexpected ways. Hearing how young people, even those who seem disengaged, find value in our classes is a testament to God's grace and mercy.
We aim to take every opportunity to share the gospel, focusing on intentional discipleship and building strong relationships with young people and children. We aim to model an authentic, fun, and challenging faith that inspires others. As pastors, we connect with students not just through teaching but also in games and everyday activities, opening our hearts to share the beauty of the gospel.
What inspires me most in my work is witnessing God's transformative power in people's lives. Even when families' needs seem overwhelming, delivering food, visiting, or praying for them reminds us that it is God who works miracles. His will is always best, and He makes possible what we cannot achieve alone. This strengthens our faith and enables us to impact lives through the gospel.

At Cadaniño, every teacher we hire transforms the lives of not just a great number of children, but also their entire families. That’s why nearly half of our budget goes directly to teachers’ salaries—because investing in local leaders creates lasting change. By supporting Cadaniño, you enable us to hire more teachers, expand our reach, and impact more vulnerable children with education, mentorship, and the love of Christ. Join us in equipping these frontline workers who are making a difference every day.
