In today’s technology driven world, computer literacy is a prerequisite for many jobs and plays a big part in helping people transition from manual labor to skilled, professional jobs. We have setup two computer labs here in Guatemala.
The first was located at the orphanage Fundaninos located in San Jose Pinula. Prior to starting our classes, none of the children had had access to computers. Through weekly classes they students learned to touch type, play educational games and use office applications they become competent in the use of a computer and are exposed to the many benefits technology can offer. This has been a great help to the students who have aged out of the orphanage.
Our other computer training program is run in our Vocational Educational Training Center for children at Colonia Santa Fe, a red zone of Guatemala City. Every day students come in for a a Bible class, prayer, computer classes and help with their homework.
